The Muslim leaders in the North under the umbrella body of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), yesterday accused the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, of having a hidden agenda for opposing the Federal Government negotiation with the Boko Haram sect.
The CAN President last week kicked against any form of dialogue between the government and the sect believed to be responsible for the series of violence in the North.
Oritsejiafor said after delivering a sermon at the 46th convention of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria Kaduna that for the continued corporate existence of the country, the government should no longer condone any group threatening the security of lives and property of Nigerians.
“I don’t think any sensible government, whether the President is a Muslim or a Christian, will want to sit down and discuss such thing because it is the greatest instrument of disunity that this country will ever experience,” he was quoted as saying.
However, the JNI on Wednesday rejected Oritsejiafor’s position on the government engaging Boko Haram in a dialogue.
in a statement signed on his behalf of The Secretary-General of the organisation, Dr. Khalid Abubakar by the Public Relations Officer Umar Ahmed Zaria, he stated that the CAN President should make clear his intention for opposing the Federal Government dialogue with the Islamic sect
“After the Miya Barkatai foiled attempt to bomb a church in Bauchi State, aren’t we witnessing the return of peace and security? Is he not interested in this? In the light of above, I strongly disagree with his assertion, particularly at a time that tension is gradually dying down.
“May I at this junction call on Oritsejafor to tell the world the so-called 26 groups said to be the Boko Haram. Also, it is imperative that the CAN President reveals to the nation his motive for not wanting the Federal Government to dialogue with the Boko Haram sect. It seems he prefers violence and anarchy the nation is going through.
“Why is he an advocate of violence for violence? The onus lies on him to tell the world what he wants regarding the Boko Haram palaver. He is always truncating the Federal Government initiatives.
“At this trying moment, patience, steadfastness, forbearance and the fear of God should be our guiding principle in curbing this menace. But the reverse is the case with the CAN President

What is the basis of any kind of negotiation with a sect that says it's avowed intention is to islamise the entire country. With such a sect, it's either you crush them or they crush you. There are no half ways about it. It is absolutely nonesensical to sit on the same table with this bunch of people. The Federal Government should use everything within it's powers to crush this group!
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely a 'miss of track' for the federal government at the first instance to have thought of negotiating with terrorist, vampires, and the greatest treators nigeria as a nation has ever had, what is the basis of Federal government negotiation?on what ground?what is the islamic sect called boko haram agitating for that they wants negotiation? why didnt president barack obama negotiate with osama bin ladden? why are u questioning the statement of CAN president?it would have been very imperative for federal government to use every of her avaliable power to crush the so-called boko haram
ReplyDeleteWhat do you sit to discuss with people without conscience,no respect for God and lives.People that said they want federal govt to sponsor their barbaric ambition to cruel lives, what good is in them that will make a reasonnable person not to talk of reasonnable govt sitting with such kind of person to discuss, ofcourse, their discussion can never be reasonable and who told them that Nigeria is an islamic nation,Nigeria is Gods own country and any person, society, bodies, nation, group be it spiritual or physical who want to change that shall be destroy completely in JN.I am not surprise, with what the JNI have just published, this shows that they have hand in the affairs of the boko haram.Their days are numbers so says the Lord.
ReplyDeleteTrue to the fact that conveyed by the previous commentators on this matter, l like to add my voice by saying that what the CAN president said is clear and obvious. I wonder what other 'masquerade' the JNI is talking about. If the Federal government attempts to negotiate with this boko haram sect, does it mean that any group that rises tomorrow, the Federal government will also be prepared to negotiate with them? What about the lives lost, properties destroyed..., who will negotiate their replacement?
ReplyDeleteIs it by force to be a mosleim? we have right to religion so i don't see any reason so called full(BH) want to force people into their religion what is good in their decision before federal government will negotiate, stop blaming the CAN president and face the fact. God will punish all of you out there that hate the truth.
ReplyDeleteJNI or whatever they are called should go to hail and burn to ashes, they should rather be the one to tell us their plans with Boko Haram and to disturb CAN president PA Oritsejafor you should not panic to any empty threat from them whatever they need they will surely see it.Fuck Boko Haram,Fuck the useless negotiation,JNI since you are now an advocate of nagotiation for Boko Haram all of you will soon face what Abu Qaga`s father recently face goodluck to all of you
ReplyDeleteIt's high time we split this country. What a hell is happening here, what is FGN negotiating, who is even bringing up that idea. Dr Khalid Abubakar & his men should call their brothers to order. Sure they are all part of it.
ReplyDeleteI feel pst orishejafor is saying the right thing no need to negotiate with all these so called groups becos it will encourage others to come out to gain something too since the know the fed govt. would compensate them.it means I can wake up one morn. and form my own group lets not encourage these people.the JNI should state their motives who knws ?
ReplyDeleteJNI or whatever ur names are, u are all fools to speak so of the CAn president's statement. Which sensible organisations sits with killers and destroyers of live to negotiate? Even posterity will not forgive such a govt. Clean up ur mess, boko haram must leave Nigeria, its not out style of living neither the definition of the peace we need. SAY NO TO ANY FOR OF NEGOTIATION WITH BOKO HARAM, THE SPONSORS FROM THE NORTH HAVE A LOT TO GAIN FROM IT.
ReplyDeleteWhen will these men stop all this sentiment and embrace the idea of we becoming on nigeria?I guess the motive of JNI is getting clearer. When they were suppose to add their voice to condem the activities of Boko haram, they were silent.Showing they had been in support of the group from day 1.How can a sensible being query what Pa oritsejafo had said.He made his point clear, negotiating with a group who demand for islamising Nigeria. It is obvious that the person that need to explain his motive to the world,is JNI Chairman. And for the records, what made JNI thinks they are ruddy. If not that christainity do not permit violence,we would have shown them a bit of what we are made of and what we can do.They shouldn't try to raise temper by trying to make useless accusation.Bunch of sentimental cronies, who have allowed sentiments to becloud their sense of judgement.
ReplyDeleteBoko Haram = JNI. Bunch of fools and marauders. America and Britain will never negotiate with any terrorist. fools
ReplyDeleteI m vehemently in support of of the President of CAN.No sensible Government will negotiate with a deadly sect or terrorist group in a a country. This act was masterminded by Northern Moslem leaders and Political leaders but the act has turned against them that is why they are now clamouring for negotiation.Dr Khalid Abubakar and Co be wise
ReplyDeleteJNI or what? You people should know from the on-set that Boko-Haram is the military force/tool use by JNI/Muslim/Northern politicians.See what these useless people are saying that FG should negotiate with killers/destroyers.What of lives, properties&destinies that have been destroyed by these BH?It is clearly shown they are part of it.It is not their fault,if CAN president had called all Christians faithful to come out to fight back, they will be begging, they won't open their dirty mouth & be muttering non-sense.Fools!
ReplyDeleteor my fellow angry and empty head.why are u insinuiating what you don't know about the truth.am sure most of u that comment on this issue has never been to the north.when the christian who where cout in bauchi trying to born a church.we have to make invistigation over this calamity that is befalling our country.with or without negotiation ALMIGHTY ALLAH will surely open the anus of those behind the menace.accusing the muslims and north.
ReplyDeleteNigerian christians and there leaders are birds of the same feather they always like to talk rubbish and think they know better than anyone cos they r fools and fools always behave like that, always calling for the divide of this country cos of they have hidden agenda abt dis BH issue, whois afraid to divide nigeria after all we r forced to be wit u ppl lets divide and see who will suffer fools.
ReplyDeleteMay God punish you people the so called boko haram, may you people become a thing of the past in Nigeria, may you people never live to see your generations to generations, may you people die like a vulture and pig, rest in pieces boko haram
ReplyDeletehow can a govt negotiate with terrorists?the govt will loose definitely.....they all need to watch the movies 24,the event and know some real facts n truths when you are dealing or negotiating with terrorists....BH are smart n intelligent....they are using Nigerias weaknesses to build up their success of mischief and they have been successful init?!.............JNI and CAN should come together and have a talk please they are the heads of the major religions in Nigeria and should reflect leadership by example.......peace should start from them.......may God help us all!Jesus come to our rescue......!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt you that called JNI abusive names should be spotted as BARBARIC.... You are as good as knowledgeable illiterate with no respect to other Islam (Religion of Peace).
ReplyDeletePlease weather you are a Christian/Muslim, lets respect one another and leave as brothers and sisters.
without bias judgement, we know d bombing acts is political and selfish needs whereby a so called Christian bomb churches nd Muslim bomb mosques......
My fellow country men/women, lets enbrace all possible means of restoring peace back into our father land. Nigeria is ours and its only we that have the solutions to our problems, not people that will come and destabilize our land.
I LOVE YOU ALL, I LOVE MY COUNTRY NIGERIA, I LOVE JNI_CAN
Government know exactly what to do with those ungrateful people, no one say that you should not go to school and and acquire modern education. How can a country be run without elite, i still say that government should crush those group completely. The story happen in port harcourt ogoni road to eket, where arm robbers kill and raped innocent women , one day an officer wife was raped, that was then the hold bori camp invaded the place, So when one of the house member father , mother , son , presidency is affected, i think then something will done about these group.
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be the whorst mistake our president will make in his life to negotiate with Dogs called Boko Haram
ReplyDeleteWhat are the demands of boko haram: to make naija an islamic nation... Is that what the govt should negotiate with, when the constitution of our dear country say Naija is a secular state. Boko Haram is poliicians creations to milk the nation at the negotiation table.
ReplyDeleteI think JED should just allow true federalism to play on in Naija, so if the North want sharia, so be it. And let see if development would take place in the north...
What are the fools called Boko Haram agitating for;that must warrant negitiation.
ReplyDeleteAre we negotiating for the lives and properties lost. Or is it the negotiation to Islamize Nigeria.JNI, we are clapping for you fools sponsoring Boko Haram.
The FG is not fool like you people.
Ride on with your foolish agitation till the wrath of God consume you people.
keep on destroying God's image.
Who are you to intimidate the man of God.
He has no apology!
IT IS A SHAME THAT SOME SO CALLED MUSLIM WILL OPEN THE MOUTH TO ACCUSE THE CAN PRESIDENT, I WILL IN THE NORTH B4, ALL MUSLIM ARE THE SAME, THAT ARE ALL PRETENDING, WHAT KIND OF RELIGION WILL IDENTIFY WITH MURDERER? THESE SHAMELESS MUSLIM LEADER ARE NOT REASONABLE
ReplyDeletethe question is would the British and American allowed a conflict of these nature to drag on? the question what is the pay off- a continued killing from both side or a negotiated settlement for peace?
ReplyDeleteV we in our individual pursuits ever negotiated with the Devil dat is killing us? It is either he repents(surrenders) or he's been cast away to the pit of hell. No plenty talk!
ReplyDeletei love my president pastor oristajafor. he is a man of God. there is no need for any dialogue.may the lord God almighty give the federal governemt the power to silence all the gboko haram and any one who is c onnected to them or have any love for them.
ReplyDeleteAll these northern muslim leaders should be questioned. why are they all suddenly talking because federal govt has refused to negotiate with their killer squad. Let them do their worse now.
ReplyDeleteThunder should devour any idiot that accuses The CAN president of his opinion over the so called negotiation with terrorist. The question is " why should Mr president dialogue with terrorists?". Blood for blood and flesh for flesh is the answer to these nefarious activities. Negotiation is absolute absurdity and the worst action of a Government over selfish and incorrigible terrorists.Let Mr president and his forces get set and fight this evil to the end so that the heart of men will not be set on evil again. i suggest that any Boko Haram member caught should be burnt to ashes as a deterent to others. Thank u, one house
ReplyDeleteWe should all stop sending insultive words to either JNI or CAN. We should all be resonable and fearsom of the messengers of God and be okay with the fact that government did not negotiate and should not negotiate with Boko Haram. Whatever their cause is, we should all continue to pray that their evil plans be twarted. And for the division of our beloved country, all will suffer and all will not because no one knows what will happen tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteLet us all keep on praying (Christians and Muslims)
Ps: it is written, judge not my servants.
Nonsense, Robbers robs somebody, they would be prosecuted and possibly jailed or killed, but one useless group murders thousands of people and destroys Billions of property and you would want to sit down and discuss with him. Discuss what? what are they agitating for.Oil derivation, Tomato derivation or Violence derivation? It is hard time everybody knows that nobody, no body has autonomy for violence.
ReplyDeleteSir (Dr. Khalid Abubakar)
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, I oppose your view on this issue.
Please put sentiments apart and let us lay things bare. You know the people perpetrating the violence hence your plea for dialogue with them.
How many of your family members or close associates have gone yet by the act of Boko Haram?
Please ponder over this things before you say 'violence for violence'.
Do you set up committees to negotiate when rats eat your food stuffs and belongings or you set them up, you know.
Boko Haram is an extremist group that lacks power compare to fed govt. And I cannot understand your motive for the support of deliberations and negotiations when people are being killed daily.
Please adjust your thinking
Let the govt negotiate with the so called boko haram. The brains behind these acts will be revealed. Is it the Muslim or it is politically motivated or one of those plots of the west to gain ground in nigeria.
ReplyDeleteIt is obvious that Islam is against unwarranted destruction of lives and properties.
In the issues at hand Islam is just a child of circumstance.
yes i am muslim and a northerner all i believe is that to negotiate with these extremist is quite wrong. they involve in an activity that will tarnish the good teaching of islam b4 they emerge muslim and christian were peacefully leave in harmony tolorating one another but now reverse is the case. see how our fellow christian brothers were provoked, accusing cursing muslim of course this is big calamity and i personally understand the reason behind it. all we need now is join prayers to federal govt to have ability, courage and power to do away with them so that peace will prevalent in our father land.
ReplyDeletethe boko haram and northern elite are right now uncomfortable cos government is trying by giving them a hot chase. The fire they put on is consuming them. They are looking for peace ''no peace for the wicked''.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity dt some ignorants and member's of boko haram want Fed govt to negotiate wt the vampires, killers and vanderlisers. When this so called BH has already shows their intention that they want all their members in security custody to be released and they want govt to promised them of maximum security b4 they will sit down for any negotiation. And also want to Islamise this country that God has already blessed with the children of Light. If FG start negotiating wt d killers and d enemies of light d Blood of d innocent victims is on their head and it shows that we dont hav capable security men in this nation. This will also encourage more dangerous group to arise in the nearest future. Where did u see America negotiating wt d terrorist, terrorist are not domestic animal dt u can tame. The only language the devil understand is fire, so let d security men harm themselves and eradicate dis enemies of progress and their suppoters. Enough is enough of the rubish, our security men are up to the task if they determine to do it, there is no need for useless negotiation. May God help Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteAm very grateful for every comment, let fear God in evry thing we‘re sayin. Boko-haram issue is not about a religion, bcos they even attack muslim communities and muslim brothers. The only solution to this problem is prayer and comin together as one or else naija may fall. Pls let see this as hands of politics.
ReplyDeletefoolish Nigerians always riding on the wave of religious and tribal sentiments. listen to all their talk... only fools will not hold the leaders of their country accountable for wide spread ills ... corruption, boka haram, Niger delta, nepotism, unemployment... name it. whatever the disguise it comes ... our leaders are irresponsible period. And what are we for tolerating them?
ReplyDeleteI say no to such negotiations. If this should happen, we then can justify what people have been saying...."this present Govt is a weak govt."
ReplyDeleteIt is not surprising to hear such words from the christian southerner. It is one of our problems in Nigeria that when a disaster is out of your region or community you do not bother about those who suffer it's consequences. This boko haram sect is not up to two percent of the northern muslim populace. But due to the high degree of hatred towards Islam and Muslims, many Nigerians are deliberately and ignorantly throwing the blame upon all the northern muslims.A reasonable and unbiased northern christians, especially those from Borno,Yobe,Gombe,Adamawa,Kano and Niger states will never make such comments.Because they see how it happens. How many manymuslims are killed in these above enumerated states? Let me tell you these boko haram leaders are being used by the enemy of Islam and Muslims to cause chaos, instability and economic backwardness of the north.People like Obasanjo, Goodluck, Jeremier, Jerry Gana and even the CAN president are aware of this.the boko haram leaders are on contract but the members at the lower level don't know this. They are just being deceived. Just as it was in the era of Maitatsine riot.Maitatsine was not a muslim. He was hired from Camaroun republic to cause disturbances in mslims dominated towns. Yakubu Gowon knows this.So my dear countryman there are so many to say about this issue of boko haram. Don't allow yourself to be carried away by sentiments.I know it seriously pains for a christian to his fellow christians being brutally murdered. But mind you almost 97 percent of the muslims here are strongly against the activities of this sect. This time is no time throwing bad and abusive words to the muslims. The northerners need prayers from every where to see the end of this calamity. On the issue of dividing nation,it is in the hand of God. The time will really come but when the God wills.I am in support of dividing this nation but i bear in mind that whoever opposes what God supposes should be getting ready to pay for the disrespect, disobedience and unfaithfulness to the Almighty.
ReplyDeleteI advises you to stop hubbubing. Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) are supporting Boko Haram (BH) terrorism. Read the history of BH leader and it emerging, read on the Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) agenda and that of the CAN. You will understand that, the three are friends with the same terrorist aim to destablises Nigeria. Note that Boko Haram is not islamical, but are MEND in the north, with different tactical design to accompolish their objectives in dividing Nigeria.
