Boko Haram strikes Gombe, banks, police stations affected

Members of Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad popularly known as Boko Haram yesterday evening, attacked areas in Gombe around 7:30 pm.
They attacked Ashaka area of Gombe state, A police station and other security formations in the area and also raided banks.
As at the time of filing this report powerful explosions and gun battles between the Islamic group and armed security operatives are continuing, with residents fleeing the area.
There is no official response from neither the police or Gombe State government on casualties and other information regarding the attacks
Similarly, explosions were also heard this evening in flaspoint townships of Gaidam and Potiskum in Yobe State. The same was heard close to Nigerian border in Borno State.
Plainclothe security operatives carrying highly sophisticated weapons are said to be camped close to public schools in the staten to thwart attacks on schools children.
In the last few months, the Boko Haram sect has been targeting banks, for money they need to fund their operations, and police stations, for arms.
