Nigerian pastor and self-styled bishop, David Oyedepo, has made a glistening addition to his business empire by floating an airline called Dominion Air according to Africareview.
Oyedepo, who a few years ago ignited debate on flamboyant Christianity by acquiring his fourth private jet, is the owner of Dominion Publishing House, Covenant University and an elite secondary school called Faith Academy.
Listed by Forbes as Nigeria’s wealthiest pastor with a net worth of $150 million, David Oyedepo is a preacher and founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, more popularly known as Winners’ Chapel. Besides his four private jets, Forbes also mentioned the preacher’s luxury homes in London and the United States.

Sources within the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the agency charged with business registration in Nigeria, confirmed the registration of Dominion Air with David Oyedepo as its chairman. Another source within a Lagos-based insurance firm known to handle most of Oyedepo’s businesses said the airline project had been in the works for six years and was only made a reality this year.
The broker who balked at putting figures to the number of aircrafts so far purchased authoritatively said none of them is on lease.
If Oyedepo’s entry into the airline business is creating exciting buzz in Nigeria’s stock exchange, the same cannot be said with the Christian community, especially the Pentecostal congregations, where the so-called men of God have been criticised for alienating their poor followers with their flamboyant lifestyle.

ReplyDeleteWhen Jesus was in the world he has NO,Car,NO house of his own,no bank account, but his moving around helping the poor, were is winners charity Home???? God we are waiting your last day
ReplyDeleteWho'll blame Oyedepo? He's into whatever form of preaching or rather extortion to make money. His followers should ask themselves that before Living Faith where was he worshipping? Why did he leave that place if not to extort money from unsuspecting followers who are fooled into believing that 'all is well'? All these 'one man & family' churches in reality don't see Christ as the head, instead it's the founder. And because they are the agents of Satan we'll keep on having problems in Nigeria for they're as fake as the message they pretend to be preaching. Christ was seen as an activist & a social engineer fighting the bad government of his day, but today all the so called and self-styled men of God (in truth-agents of Lucipher) are the stooge of the bad government in Nigeria. Shine your eyes Nigerians: these agents of bad government or Lucipher covering themselves in the name of God are the ones laundering monies for our elected officers and getting their 10% kick backs in the name of charitable donations. One more food for thought: why is crime on the increase(excluding Boko Haram) with increasing number of churches by the day? Answer may not be far fetched; the agents of Lucipher are at work confusing people in the name of God & extorting from them and even forcing them to embezzle and rob to come and give tithe. Arise compatriots!
ReplyDeleteSeek ye the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all other things will be added unto you!....
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeleteam so excited! atleast we are goin to have a christain airline in Nigeria! yes its true that when Jesus was in the world he didnt had cars or watever, same with His disciples and same with the rest of the people living in that era. if you guys will agree that we should all go back to that ancient times, then its okay but we are all goin to destroy our properties and clothes, use beans bag to make gowns for both men and women and every one will only be allowed to own one gown and a sandal and we will all live in tents,no AC,BB, Internet and all those things that makes life comfortable these days. AGREED? if you dont agree with that then stop criticising Pastors! before you try to remove a speck from somone's eyes, you shud remove the plank in your own eyes first! Arise o compatriots and lets go back to the AD 0000! and you know what compatriots? we can as well remain in our seated position and lift up holy hands and a clean heart and thank God for the gift of life which can not be purchased by money....if the people paying tithes and offerings were not getting financial blessings in return they would have stopped on their own and they wont need you to call their attention to it, God has placed this prophets over us as a channel to bless us if you like seat down there and judge...the bible says beleive in the LORD your God and you shall be established; beleive His prophets, so shall ye prosper! Oyedepo is living by example, if He were wretched you would have still ask why His God cannot make Him rich? He is a living proof of SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU! get born again and let God renew your mind! Jesus is coming sooner than we expected...are you prepared? dont enbitter your mind with hate for God's prophet else you will be bringing a CURSE upon your life! Arise O compatriots, Jesus is coming sooner than we expected!!
ReplyDeleteI thank God for you who are wise and do not follow anybody. But beware of what you say. If you want to know if the Man of God assists anybody, go and ask him. Otherwise, mind your business. Dit he extort money from you? AJ
ReplyDeleteThe end shall justify the means.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteJudge not, so that you will not be judge.
Am happy for my mentor David Oyedipo.
may God continue to bless him.Amen
The 2rd comment: Jesus was rich but he became poor so we might be rich. So, don't question anyone with wealth cos that's the concept.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic development! Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion but as for me, this is God at work. Dare to do God's will peeps...
ReplyDelete@the anonymous up:
ReplyDeleteJesus was rich and he's still rich.He wore best linen of that time,he rode on finest ass,he spent money from the fishes of an ocean.Don't castigate anyone call himself man of God.You are permitted not to believe them, but don't castigate.Let God judge them. Then,if you can't have patience for God judgement, that means you don't believe that God exists.Do you know how many people receiving scholarship every year from the church?Do you know how many enjoying free scholarship & school fees from these men of God?Do you know people they feed? You should have these information before you call somebody fake. It's not everybody that is fake!A thief that was arrested in your home town doesn't make you a thief!
This is the principle of wealth: Do God's will and he will bless you
ReplyDeleteOh God! when I shall I have enough money to take care of the pressing needs, my aged parents, my younger ones. God I need you to bless me now. You are blessing people with Jets, Airlines, Landcruiser Jeeps, Bently, Lambroginy, cardillac, Hummers, good jobs etc, while I do not have a job now. God please bless me too. God, I'm sorry for my sins, pls pardon me. I'm sorry to say that some people have enough blessings already,I think it's high time you blessed us that are struggling to survive. Oyedepo has four Jets already,You now gave him airline.God it's my time now.Start by giving me a job now, then a house, a good wife, then maybe a Jeep for my wife to take care of the children you will give us. God I'm still squatting with a friend. God please give me my own place of rest even if it is one room. God bless me now, today, no more delay because I know you can do it. My name is Christopher and my email is cokfinance@gmail.com in case you want to allow God to use you and help me.
ReplyDeleteThe bibble says that the best of the earth is ours (Christians). That we shall lend to nations! (not people!) Read your bibles folks! And guess what, Jesus was never poor in the the way most of you look at it. The bible says Judas was stealing fro their purse and they did not even notice! That means the had an account (purse) that was so large that Judas was stealing from it and it was not noticed. The bishop is exemplifying Christianity. That is the life we are called to, the blessing of Abraham.
ReplyDeleteFunny. People like Dangote and Adenuga and Otedola would live in wealth and it would be ok, but when one who serves the GOD does so people talk. God does take care of his own pple.
ReplyDeleteJesus was living comfortably, yes I agree but He was not responsible for the church money. Every true church ought to have a trustee that will manage God's money. When all the money is going to the pastors pocket, then he needs to watch out. Money is the root of all evil and people never have enough, they keep looking for more. On the last days, we shall see all forms of Pastors and Prophets of God. I live Bishop Oyedepo but I just can't stand some of his doctrine.
ReplyDeleteReaders, please look at the bigger picture. With all these businesses he's creating, think of employment opportunities he had created and he continues to create. How many of our public figures stealing Billions (soon it's gonna be trillions) have had the common sense to do that. Rather they'd rather hoard N2B and more in cash at home. I may not attend his church, but i do agree with his business sense.
ReplyDeleteWhen i ready comments from abased minds, the more i realize that common sense is not common and that folly is exalted above wisdom. Whoever, the anonymous are, i completely see a people of disgruntous living who are theives. What is wrong with a man of God living in the blessing- if the devil who is not the creator of this world can make it's own to live well and make tese anonymous elements poor- what do you expect of a faithful servant of God who is doing the will of the father? Say you of him whom the father hath sanctified that he is a sinner-
ReplyDeleteI thank God that the word of God is coming to pass in my Bishop life...His life is an example to those of us who re growing in our spiritiual life..Am happy that serving God adds uncommon wealth to those who serve him faihfull...papa dis is just d Beginning for the believers..because we shall all spread round the world in Jesus Name Amen
ReplyDeletewell chris let me tell u hw its wrks, stop beliving u ar were u are becos God dont want 2 bless u, see God has already blessed u, all u need 2 do is 2 work in Gods principles, 4 example learn 2 confess right, learn 2 Give 2 the need around u, think positivly.find how God want u 2 do things and do it things will change,
ReplyDeletepls mind ur comments.....God's children don't lack.....they have in abundance...if it were dangote...nobody will question...how much more...my daddy bishop oyedepo..habba....He's going to do yet greater things than this through christ who strengthens him...winners are not losers who die in lack and want....join us at living faith durumi...abuja...and hv ur own share....u are blessed....waves of glory.....
ReplyDeleteThe best thing is to be happy for others no matter what and pray that you will have enough to meet your needs, those of your family and contribute to the welfare of others in your own special way. Castigating others would never help anyone but compound the problem. If he living off his congregation, I believe the matter is between him and God. So let us not bring curses upon ourselves with gutter talk.
ReplyDeleteThis is mavelous
ReplyDeleteThe reason why some people still remain in abject poverty is dt they always annoy when they see others progressing in life. Until u change this ur poverty mentality &approach to the word of God & His prophets u may not make any positive impact on earth cos u are living under a curse by criticising what u do not know about Christ & his Prophets. It's not Pastors that initiated tithe/offering, it's a commandment frm God and that's the only way to prosperity. If u like pray for 365 days or turn to PRAYING MANTIS. If u don't obey God's word u are just knocking ur head against a brick wall. U are blind, deaf and dumb by ascribing poverty to Jesus Christ; and u dont read ur bible if u are a xtian. Jesus travelled by boat and d best Ass, and dt's d only means of trasportatn durind their time. Wherever u see Christ everything was available wt them including money. Read Jn 14:12-14 to let u know that anybody that believe can even do greater works than Christ. Come to winners chapel and listen to amazing testimonies of what God is doing thru his prophet. Glory!!!
ReplyDeleteWell. He is a 'Smart' Man. He registered his church with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as his own. So all those who pay their tithe and first fruit you should know that you may not afford the cost of flying in this airline or you go to God to obtain a free ticket.Whether he is your pastor or mentor is inmaterial.Above all, the airline belongs to his family at the end of the day. This is the gospel truth.So.My people,Follow Follow too much now.Biribiri Niye!
ReplyDeleteyes ohhhh, waves of glory it is already speaking, a christian airline , more job opportunities , thank you Jesus, It is my turn to ride the waves, do not spend your time grumbling peeps find out what makes it work and it will work for you JESUS CHRIST is the name AND the GAME is to believe in HIM
ReplyDeleteGod please bless me the way You have blessed Bishop Oyedepo. I need your blessing.
ReplyDeleteWisdom is justified of his children.........anonymous, you seem to be the epitome of poverty! read your bible in luke 4. the gospel is preach to the poor so they can become rich....no where in the scriptures both old and new testement is God's people synonemous with poverty...Abrahm, Isaac, Jocob, Job, David, Solomon even the apostles...reads Acts.4. they had so much that some sold estate. My advice is don't involve yourself in a matter that is too high for you....this is the comming wealth transfer the Spirit of God has through his servant being talking about for some time now. Money will only find its true value in the hands of the believer for it to be used for its just cause but in the hand of unbelievers its a mean of destruction. Don't get too bitter because this is just the beginning. watch out for more....Pastor Chris, Adeboye, adefarasin, Adeyemi, Matthew, etc...........am telling you we will not stop till we take over and control the economy of every sector. ALA
ReplyDeleteAll those speaking or talking ou of sentiment should realise that The Lord is a God of justice. He sent his son to earth to direct us back to him.He did not come to the world to make us earthly or material kings. Therefore we should be more conserned with things of spirit and haven than all these material bohaha!Remember,Christ chased people who was trading in his father's House. All those speaking out of sentiment because he is their pastor should realise that we will meet God as individuals. So let us call a spade a spade.I respect the pastor but I think he is becoming too wordly. The bible says that you cannot serve God and Mormon at the same time. Even Boko haram members can also defend their own. I can see reason in what Tope Adeleke Said. All should be wise or people will use them and make mockery of christainity.Shikina
ReplyDeleteHahahaa! i cant help but just laugh! here them as they criticize themselves. its a pity that most are blind folded because they see the truth but will never say or deny but few recognize the truth and still say it, kudos!.. no one has the right to judge but can only criticize! there are countless of such commited by several pastors, its only a matter of time and the truth shall reveal it self.
ReplyDeleteGOD is watching & everyone shall account for his or her deeds..
May be he is a Boko Haram member.
ReplyDeleteOh men, what do you believe? One man is blessed by many, its a problem, one man (politicians and others) steals from many,he is a hero.People get blessed in churches , though many work for Dangote how many leave the offices happy. Please give to someone and you will see the blessings that follow. Show some spiritual or physical light many will follow.Bros, which way are you looking, I see opportunities -employment,education for a better tomorrow, etc.now how many scholarships do the politicians give, what light? Appreciate a little. Why not aspire to influence your generation and see what gifts will come to you.Just affect one person and you will see. Jesus, just less than 1year received 'GOLD' , etc, dined with Pharisees in the palace, a prostitute cleaned his legs with one year's proceeds worth of perfume ( I leave you to calculate),... Jesus died so you can be rich by what He preached.... Where are youu in life.. I l leave you to answer that... Samuel Kalu
ReplyDelete@Anonymous of 11:04AM:You should find out something before you pass exact comment. That's why a criminal remains suspect until it's proved otherwise, how much more God's kingdom. You are right with a church having trustee to be in charge of finance. In Living Faith, where Bishop Oyedepo presides, every church,I mean, all the branches worldwide have about 5 major councils. One of these committees is audit another is finance. They see to the way money enter and was expended. The books of account in the church are vet every time.To interest you, pastors are not signatory to the accounts. The church council members which comprises of Elders & Deacons are the signatories to bank accounts.Go & find out.I'm not saying this to impress you,but just to prove a point of 'FINDING OUT' before passing comments and you to avoid killing by mouth as stated in the bible.
ReplyDeleteDon't mind those antagonists Jare, they must be an anti-Christ. Where did u see in the scripture that poverty glorifies God, or is the way to heaven? Lol.....i feel for u, u better change ur mentality b4 it's too late. Since d time u people have been Criticizing Bish David Oyedepo, does that reduce his progress? If i were u, i will stay under his teaching for at least 3month and see whether my life entire life will remain the same. From that, u will know how to criticise him. But for u to stay in the darkness and continue throwing stone into the light will not help u at all. U are just involking d wrath of God on ur head by speaking against His Prophet. Remember d scripture, ''thou shalth not judge'' or else..... Antangonists beware if u are a true xtian bt i dont think so, u must be one of the Boko haram. God is not a joker. To all Winners, Glory!!!
ReplyDelete@Tope Adeleke:
ReplyDelete"Follow follow" as you said.....In life, you must follow follow someone before you are successful. If it's heaven, you still follow before you get there. That was why people follow apostles in those day.If you are a Christian,Tope, you are following your pastor. If you a Muslim or Pegan, you are following your leaders there.Yes,he is smart as you said but i can assure you,he's operating divine wisdom if you look at it in spiritually. The ownership of the so called businesses is no man's business.Leave that one to the church councils.Don't use your mouth to kill.In spiritual set up,there are somethings you leave for God to handle,God knows how.Otherwise, you will just put yourself into troubles. No one can advocate for God,you should know that. You are blessed!
Jesus was poor so that we could be rich,so Pastor Adeboye is just swimming in the prosperity Christ has promised us,so instead of beefing(for those beefing) why not tap into his blessing...If God can do it for him,he can definitely do it for you too...if you believe.
ReplyDeleteWe must be careful the way we say things concerning any servant of God. Gone are dos days when Xtians were known as church rats! that is not what God promissed his Children...................... be READY to recieve your share! Its free for those who seek it!
ReplyDeleteFunny Country, Funny People...i can't laugh
ReplyDeleteyou christians condeming this act,do you read your bibles at all? we are to dominate the economy.but one thing i know is that if there is no original of a thing, there can't be the fake,if there are fake pastors,it means there are original pastors.our Jesus was and is still a very rich man, that his crucifiers were even fighting for the pieces of his expensive clothing. i share your vision bishop, ride on sir.dominate!if you like accusers remain poor for life,as for me,i'm going to work with the brain and the hands the Lord has given to me and become very rich.ifelola
