Reports reaching us has it that fleeing suspected Boko Haram bomber, Kabir Sokoto, has been rearrested at the Nigeria-Chad border.

Rumours in Abuja and a number of posts on Twitter said he was caught in unclear circumstances.

However, the spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force, Mr. Olusola Amore, said he had not been briefed.

He promised to issue a statement if the story was found to be true.

Sokoto, who is suspected to have masterminded the Christams Day 2011 bomb blast at the St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Madalla, Niger State, escaped from a police van last week while he was being taken to his residence for a search.

Sokoto, recently escaped from police custody under questionable circumstances, following which a national manhunt was declared, and a N50million ransom price placed on him by the police high command.

In fact, Kabiru's 'disappearance' cost the former Inspector- General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, his job, as President Goodluck Jonathan fast-tracked his retirement from the Force and replaced him with Mr. Mohammed Abubakar

A number of senior police officers, including the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Mr. Zakari Biu, have been reportedly placed under house arrest and suspended for involvement in the incident.

  1. Kabiru Sokoto was trailed and rearrested by the SSS. The Police had no hand in it. Even the picture you posted was when he was being paraded at SSS head quaters, Abuja, yesterday afternoon.Nigerian Eye, get your facts right.

  3. my brother, they are all cowards. they are already getting tiredthere is no point having any dialogue with idots-terrorists. has America ever come up to say they want to dialogue with Osama Bin Laden?after the 9/11 attack in US ,America made sure that they killed Bin Laden and other al-Qaeda kingpins. what about the N50million ranson placed on his head ? who is collecting that ? SSS? carry Kabiru Sokoto to an undisclosed place and detain him inside an underground cell where he should be interrogated not by the police ,but by SSS and the military.
