Boko Haram: We Will Soon Start Bombing Nigerian Telecommunication Providers, NCC

The militant Jamatul Ahlis Sunnah Lid Daawa Wal Jihad, widely known as Boko Haram, has warned that it will soon turn its bombing and striking attention to installations of telecommunication service providers.
The charge against them: aiding the arrest of its top members: Abul ‘Qaqa’, (the sect insists Abul Dadar, not Abul Qaqa, was arrested), and Kabiru Sokoto.

The group’s spokesperson, who still claims to be Abul ‘Qaqa,’ conveyed the alert in a telephone conference interview with journalists in Maiduguri.
Boko Haram sect is holding GSM service providers responsible for providing to security agents call log facilities with the cooperation of the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC).  That body, it said, has also been penciled down to be attacked.

The spokesperson spoke in Hausa, using an anonymous telephone number.
He boasted: “No matter what, we cannot be deterred.  No amount of arrest of leaders will stop us from striking, but like I said we will strike and it will be soon.”

  1. This is why mobile operators demand serious verification before issuing simcard! Disable anyone who fail to submit demanded info and let it also be verified... One wonders why white people do better smh..

  3. Mr English (England Man).........please do remember that there is documentation of people in England....except for few illegal immigrant. I think mandatory and verifiable SIM registration will help in nigeria. Understand that u can get ur T-mobile Lebara, lyca, 3s and rest without registration but the conditions are different in both countries.

  4. @ Omorugged now What exactly is your point? What your Mr England said is actually true. Getting the registration of the pple using Sims will not solve the issue?
Are you saying getting sims registered is the only way to curb these menance? If yes then the nigerian government and the GSM companies really need to come abroad and get orientation.

  5. U people hv left the question that begs for answer, the real thing is that the nigerian security agencies talk too much, how could they reveal the means they used to capture terrorists. See now that the group wants to attack the gsm operators and its facilities, one would think that they, the security agents could have kept quiet and still continue to surprise these fools without letting anybody know the means and devices they are using to achieve success

  6. Our security agents were very mediocre by revealing their operational secrets, now the terrorists might opt not to use mobiles because they could be tracked, although the result of such an action by the killers would weaken their communication channels down their command and operational chain , it would not stop them from being deadly.

  7. This is a confessional statement which came out of these cannibals. I think the warning signal is enough for the body to guerd against such unslaught. the security should be beefed up. If there is any free flow of movement in the Regulator's compound, it should be restricted to the barest minimum.Infact, they should tighten up security.

  8. Exactly! Why reveal operational secrets? That was really foolish on their part. God will save us!
