Authorities have arrested a man believed to be a spokesman for Islamist group Boko Haram, but were still seeking to determine his identity, security sources said on Wednesday.
Two security sources said on condition of anonymity that a person suspected to be the man who goes by the alias Abul Qaqa had been arrested.
A third security source said officers were still trying to ascertain his identity, while secret police spokeswoman Marilyn Ogar said she could not confirm the arrest.
"We made a big success with the arrest of the Boko Haram spokesman that goes by the name Abul Qaqa," a secret police source said.
A senior police source said he had "received information of the arrest of the Boko Haram spokesman … He has been held for questioning."
A third security source said "agents want to be sure that it is actually the spokesman of Boko Haram. They are still trying to ascertain that."
The man who goes by the name Abul Qaqa has claimed to speak on behalf of Boko Haram on numerous occasions, including to claim responsibility for scores of attacks.

Boko Haram has not only portray Islam as devilish but also none human but animals in human structure.

Deleteif the suspect should escape ,the new IGP would be sacked immediately and charged to court to stand trial.cleansing of the police by the president should be a continuos exercise.

ReplyDeleteMy friend please make sure you understand a thing before you make conclusions. What do you mean by "Islamic terrorist", has Hitler ever been refered to as a Christian terrorist or even the so called "Niger Delta militant" ever been associated with any religion?
ReplyDeleteIts only very unfortunate that these groups are based in a particular region of the country where a particular religion dominates, but that does not mean that the Islamic religion should be attacked because of these deviant which are found in all religious bodies. Why wasn't pastor King described as a christian fanatics or terrorist?
Hey previous poster, it's either you are deaf or blind, don't these group members claim that they are fighting the cause of Islam, so why are you disassociating them from Islam. Did any of the persons you mentioned in your post claim they fought for the purpose of Christianity I hope you know what you are doing

They never accept blame for anything in a bid to digest what is being complained about with a view of being better muslims. 8 out of every 10 of them is volatile about any topic at all. We're complaining about the extremists heinous acts and you're citing irrelevant instances. Were muslims the victims of Pastor King's ish???
