5,000 Police officers deployed to Sokoto for President's visit

Sokoto State is beefing up its security ahead of President Goodluck Jonathan's visit to the northern state ahead of the gubernatorial elections.
The state's police command has deployed some 5,000 policemen to secure the state as the President and his Vice, Namadi Sambo get prepare to visit the state for the flag-off of the PDP governorship campaign today, which ruling party candidate Alhaji Aliyu Wamako is contesting.
Besides the thousands of police officers, hundreds of State Security Service personnel and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps have also been deployed to aid police efforts int he state.
Residents of the state are expected to head out to the polls on 18 February to elect a governor for the state. The date was set after the Supreme court sacked Wamako for the spot last month, placing speaker of the state House of Assembly as acting governor.

It's a shame on the Police department. The Police has lost it intergrity. Police in Sokoto State can not Stop Wamako from distributing cutlass and weapons to the touts and youth in the state. If Wamako did not win, what would happen?
