Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, decried the deployment of soldiers especially in Lagos and wondered whether it was part of the deal Labour reached with government.
Army stopped protesters in Ojota, and Block Ikorodu - Ojota Express road, Lagos during the 6th day nationwide peaceful protest on subsidy remover by Fed Govt of Nigeria.
Demanding immediate withdrawal of the soldiers, Soyinka described their deployment as "an intolerable act of provocation that has taken underhand advantage of the willingness of the people to negotiate and give the government a breathing space" and makes absolute nonsense of the Belgore machinery for resolution that was set up, even before it has commenced work.
"It has turned future dialogue into negotiation under the gun, which is nothing but a charade and will only be challenged at no distant date."
He urged Labour and Civil society to boycott further talks with the government until the soldiers were withdrawn.

BIG FOOL, SATANIST, BADLUCK
the name-calling is unneccessary Mr. Anonymous above. You should have made constructive arguments based on the news story. Renaming the president and making all these claims about BH sponsorship is childish. Comments like yours are usually made by people who lack analytical minds (Not an insult just stating the fact)
ReplyDeleteMr. Anonymous, calling the president of the federal republic of nigeria names and rebranding him as satan is very detrimental to your life. Be quick to listen and slow to speak, nigeria is not a family set up you think you can manage. Respect your president at least for once that God Almighty may bless you. Pray for your country and her leaders that there may be peace.

May God save us in this Country. I'm not sure we've gotten the right leaders than can lead us in this country. Mr. Preseident has simply in the past few days shown us the stuffs he's made up off and the quality of advisers he has around him. I think we should leave everything to God to judge all of us (both the Rulers and the Ruled). As provided in all the Scriptures, 'he that does evil shall be rewarded with it and he that does good shall have same rewarded. We shall all reap what we sow both in this world and in the hereafter.
