In Lagos, Thousands of youths have reportedly converged on the Afrika Shrine in Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, set up by Femi Kuti, the son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, in protest against the withdrawal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government. this is following the fact that they have been dispelled from the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota.
The protesters said they had to exercise their rights to peaceful assembly and dared security agents to come and dislodge them.
Femi told domestic and foreign journalists that the people had a right to reject unpopular policies of the government.
He promised to lead them on a protest march to the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota, about five kilometres away. The park was the scene of five days of public protests against the subsidy removal and was cordoned off by soldiers and policemen early on Monday.
As at 12.30pm, the youths at the shrine were chanting, “How many people soldier go kill?” and getting ready to march to Ojota to hold a peaceful rally.

the Federal Government accused the Nigerian Artists who voluntarily participated in the just suspended protest against the illegal removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria of receiving money to lend credence to the protest. unfortunately it seems that the memory of those in government are so short that it was the same Artists that joined the millions of Nigerians voluntarily to encouraged the indecisive National Assembly to installed Jonathan as acting president against all odds and they were the same people in the forefront of Jonathan's final election as President against all the obstacles of Chiroma, Atiku, Babangida and the likes. could it be that these Charlatans in government forgot that these Artists goes to the same Markets like any normal Nigerians.
