The Lagos/Ibadan Expressway was today shut down by angry youths who made bonfires and blockades to prevent movement from Lagos to other parts of the country through the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway. Vehicles that were trying to get into Lagos were also sent back or asked to stop at neighboring towns situated along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway like Mowe and Ibafo.
Other youths however turned the busy expressway into a football pitch where they displayed their skills for several hours. The people of Ibafo and Mowe also made sure that all the Filling stations and Banks situated along the expressway were closed down, crumbling any economic activity what so ever.
