PHOTO: Day 2 (Nigerians Protest) Lagos-Ibadan ExpressWay Shut down by angry Youths!

This is the Second day of the ongoing Strike and Protests in Nigeria, on the recent declaration of the removal of fuel subsidy and the Youths of the Mowe/Ibafo axis have denied vehicles means of entry into Lagos and Exit from Lagos through the Popular Lagos/Ibadan Expressway

I went around to observe the Situation and take some pictures,

Muslim Kids took to the "formally very busy" expressway to pray

Several Blockades and Bonfires were in place, about 100m apart from each other

Youths Set up Canopies and Speakers on the expressway to have a Party, while Preventing the Police Vehicles traveling into Lagos through this route from entering!

The youths Faced the armed policemen in large numbers telling the policemen to go back! The Travelling Policeman however did not fire at the angry Protesters, but rather got some refuge at the ibafo police station. While the Protesters Celebrated their Victory, and Continued to party on the Expressway.

However their Celebrations did not Last Long when some of the Policemen started shooting, scaring away the Protesters! Leading to injuries to some of the Protesters, as at the time when this Report is been filed, None of the protesters have been killed yet, but the Continious Gun shots by the Policemen only got the Crowd more angry as the swore to prevent movement of vehicles on the expressway causing a rift between the Police and Protesters

Futhermore, Private and Public Vehicles that tried to use this route were badly damaged by the youths of The Mowe/Ibafo area, making some of the vehicle owners rush to seek refuge in people's homes and compounds.
