Oluremi Tinubu, 3 other Senators Escape Death in Ibadan

Oluremi Tinubu, a senator and wife of leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria,Bola Tinubu, and four other senators escaped death by the whiskers in Ibadan on Wednesday after angry mob attacked their convoy

The senators were travelling by road, led by police escorts, following the grounding of flights in airports across the country  as a result of the strike declared by labour unions to protest government’s cut of subsidy on fuel.  According to an eyewitness, the mob damaged five cars belonging to the senators, including police escort vans leading the convoy.

“The cars’ windscreens and windows were shattered and the senators’ valuable belongings were stolen by the mob,” an eyewitness said.  Mrs. Tinubu was on the trip with Olugbenga Ashafa (ACN Lagos state), Babafemi Ojudu (ACN Ekiti state), Babajide Omoworare (ACN Ekiti state) and a yet to be identified senator.

They all got stranded in Lagos Airport on Tuesday, missing the senate’s first plenary for the year.  They were hoping to risk the potholes-ridden bad road to Abuja and catch up with at least one plenary for the week.  When contacted on telephone, Mr. Ojudu complained he was not in “the right frame of mind” to narrate details of the incident.  The senators escaped the attack unhurt and areheading  back to Lagos to recover from the trauma.

  1. I Think Isaac Newton got it right with the law of momentum. Actions and reactions are always equal and opposite. If the people now see the government as their enemies, I think it is a big bad luck for them

  6. Great Nigerians surfer so long without anybody listening to them.
These politicians will learn how to fear God. They imposed themselves on us and take us for ride. I am sure next elections will be right time to flush these looters out of office.
Well done fellow Nigerians. Keep it up and never stop until the looters taste from the hardship we face for long time.

  8. This government has not earned the right to implement a drastic decision as foolishly explained as the removal of subsidy. By making the masses suffer more in order to curb corruption? yet the leadership has made no effort to cut down the exhorbitant expenses of senators, top government office holders, tooth pick allowance, foot mat allowance, spoon and fork allowances distributed among themselves. These politicians do not understand the extent of anger of the Nigerian masses. The protest has gone way past oil subsidy removal; it's now a total display of the bitterness of the masses on the ineffective governance and incompetent leadership management.
A leader wants to curb corruption and did not deem it fit to first begin by managing corruption from his own household of senators and cabinets. What manner of leader would inflict pain on the masses in a claim to fight the corrupt few. It's a huge shame! Oma se o!!!
