The Ministry of Petroleum appears set to prove that it means business regarding its promise to fish out those belonging to the cabal that has perpetrated fraud in the fuel subsidy payments made by the Federal Government over the years, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has swooped on the offices of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
This is coming barely a day after the Petroleum Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke invited the anti-corruption body to review the subsidy payments on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) or petrol and Kerosine, with a view to identifying those who abused the subsidy provision through over invoicing.
A day after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was invited by Petroleum Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, to investigate subsidy payments, the anti-graft agency has swooped on the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), taking away documents.
It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan in a nationwide broadcast promised to investigate the alleged corruption in the importation of petroleum products. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

I hope all those involved in this illegal act would be brought to book and face punishment without bail..
ReplyDeletei can bet this will be the last we will hear about it...............it will be swept under the carpet as usual because madueke herself is involved.....................i know dat all of them will die someday and they will be buried with 120billion Naira caskets....BASTARDS
ReplyDeleteGuy, God bless.
ReplyDeleteIf that's what they think they should know that they are just a full and can only full them selves
taaa, this is another EFCC scam, a charade, you guys should just see it as another CSI episode, with no link to reality
ReplyDeleteThe biggest problem we have as a nation is that we are a shameless people and our leaders have no self integrity rather than to bully the masses.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why we still call that a country please take a look around the world and its countries we standout obnoxiously. when they call a meeting of heads of states ours go there and i can image the inferiority complex they carry with them they don`t care as far as they have a lot of poor people back home to worship them like gods.I can assure that a homeless in the west has more self respect and respect from the society than the Nigerian president both present and past with all the money they steal and loot.
Our leaders cannot even stand and negotiate one to one with their peers in the west because of the mantle of shame they carry along with them not that they really care anyway. This Jonathan really amaze me.Did this man really came in through the ballot box? Are elections really elections in Nigeria?
What do Nigerians really expect from this man brought in as vice president by Obasanjo and who tells the world that Babangida is like a father to him?
Now he tells Nigerians he wants to fight corruption and wants Nigerians to believe him. where is this fight suppose to start from? Well I think any serious and true president abt corruption will start with the likes of Obasanjo and Babangida who had looted the Nigerian treasury for so many years and thus retogressing the overall development of this country and brought a lot of suffering to the large number of Nigerians.
please people open your eyes nothing good is going to come from this man and is cabal.
The country will change or break up and its going to be at a price we have been evading for years cos these group have entrench themselves so deep in the corridors of power its going to cost blood, sweat and sacrifice to get them out and the longer its postponed the higher the cost for Nigerians its sad but its a reality.
Ha do u people really think we are better of than the Libyans well if u have been there u know the answer is NO but the super powers has kept quiet over our situation cos it benefits them to deal with these kind of leaders (both military and politicians past and present)in Nigeria that's why they have been applauding our sham of a democracy they through our oil and interests at them for their support. Qaddafi was an obstacle to this in Libya and needed to go.
I tell u if they don't get our oil in their own terms what has happened in recent times in our country would have taken another dimension except we have the Egyptian will which unfortunately we don`t have understandably no one will like to die for a country called Nigeria.
Is not today we have been hearing EFCC investigating/probing people but nothing good has come out of it.they 'll soon sweep the NNPC/PPPRA probe under carpet.Iyabo Obasanjo,James Ibori,Dimeji Bankole cases blown away.
ReplyDeleteHow a ministry prosecute itself. The minister under which this is going on should have resigned now to make way for proper investigation.
ReplyDeleteJonathan should not think that the struggle is over. Nigerians are watching. He should know by now that Nigerians are tired of him. When they rise again no soldier would content them.
I beggi may them go sit down instead of deceiving their father grave thinking is the people they are deceiving, they should do proper investigation of kerosine importation, if the oga herself no dey their. They are shameless idiot. They just wait very soon their end is here.
ReplyDeletewhat more can I say, Nigerian Govt(people) is very reactionary rather than proactive. Is it today that the Minister noticed the gross corruption going on under her nose, so if it had not been for the agitations of last week nothing could have been done and she was talking about overhauling the NNPC. Na today? Anyway na d same people- EFCC, MINISTER, NNPC;
ReplyDeleteI agree, infact the top management cadre of NNPC should have been asked to step aside cos I believe they had ample time to manipulate figures before d world acclaimed EFCC came ('to cart away docs'), so what are we talking about?
their presence in the investigation may frustrate the objective of d whole exercise
Bottom line is that there is no transparency & accountability in the whole stuff.
MAY GOD HELP US!
Another round of the theatre of the absurd. Lets wait and see what comes out of the rigmarole.
ReplyDeleteYes they said they will probe them but what comes out of it? This so-called EFCC/ICPC the money they have been retrieving from the thieves, where are they? In fact, no proper accountability in Nigeria, budget of money spent only. Since 1960 Nigeria has never declared profit made to benefit the masses. No any positive impact on masses with their so-called budget every year. They will steal Nigeria's money and take it abroad at the end of the day they die and the money will not be buried with them, shame on thieves. DEATH IS SURE FOR ALL SOULS.
