Organisers of Big Brother Africa reality show, M-Net, on Tuesday announced that the prize money had been raised to $300,000 (up from $200,00).
The prize, which will be won by contestants from two countries, as it was done in the 2011 edition, will also be entered by contestants in pairs.
That means that contestants will no longer enter alone. For the 2012 edition, contestants will enter the BBA House with any of a best friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, boss, neighbour, hairdresser.
Liberia and Sierra Leone will join the show for the first time this year while Ethiopia has opted out. Mozambique will play a new role to be announced later, according to M-Net Africa Managing Director, Biola Alabi.
Both partners must come from the same country, be 21 years or older, must be fluent in English and have a valid passport.
A Nigerian, Karen Igho, was a winner in 2011 of $200,000 prize money.
