2 Protests shot dead in Ibafo

Two persons among those protesting against the removal of fuel subsidy in Ibafo area alongLagos-Ibadan Expressway have been allegedly sent to there  early graves during a face-off  with security operatives while another one is on the danger list

it was reported that miscreants that pretended to be protesting against the removal of fuel subsidy had early in the day blocked the highway and took money from the innocent citizens, an incident that was confirmed by the Ogun State police command. 

Our Correspondent reports that there was an alleged face-off between the security operatives and some of the protesters at the sleepy Obafemi Owode local government over the hijack of the protest by some hoodlums during which innocent citizens were extorted.

 A source in the area informed NE that in a face-off between the security operatives and the protesters, two of the protesters were shot and has been confirmed dead by a medical doctor of the hospital where they were rushed to.

There were report of sporadic shooting in the area during which the whole area became rowdy and the protesters scampering for safety.

Eyewitness account has it that, one of the dead, identified as Kola, a diesel seller at Kara,Ibafo was shot on the upper left chest.

As at the time of this report, there has been no official information from the Ogun State police command on the development.

It will be recalled that the Ibafo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway was earlier blocked by the protesters, causing huge traffic build up with many motorists and other road users stranded for hours
