The new set of permanent secretaries affected by the order are Tokunbo Ogunyemi (Government House); Ayo Vaughan (Ministry of Housing), Frank Omolayole (Governor’s Office), Adewole Adekoya (Ministry of Water Resources) and Demola Badejo.
As at the time of filing this reports, the state government was yet to give reasons for the sudden retirement, but sources revealed that it may be as a result of the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun’s determination to run a slim administration in the state because of its lean purse.
But another source said the mass retirement might be because the present administration has no confidence in the sacked Permanent Secretaries, who were said to be loyalists of the immediate past government.
The second wave of retirement brings to 19 the total number of Permanent Secretaries who have, so far, been sent packing from the service of Ogun State government after the governor’s first one hundred days in office.
The first batch of those affected were: Korede A. Lawal; Olajide Adeola Oyenuga; Oluseyi Oludare Banjoko; Tajudeen Atanda Obawunm;i Kehinde Ogunfowodu; Muyideen ‘Wola Salau and Babajide Oyeti.
Others are: Adekunle Adegbite; Mufutau O. Lawal; Moshood Iyanda Opebiyi; Olubunmi Olusola Okuboyejo; H. O. Adeniji; Adesegun Solarin and Babatunde M. Salawu.
The governor, while briefing all the permanent secretaries last Friday, thanked the affected officers for their service to the state over the years and wished them well in their future endeavours.
