MINISTER of Power, Prof. Bart Nnaji, has announced the appointment of Akinwunmi Bada and Uzoma Achinanya as Chief Executive of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, one of the 18 Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, successor companies, and Executive Director of Market System Operations, Presidential Task Force on Power, PTFP, respectively.
Bada is a Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Electricity Transmission and Special Performance Monitor at the PTFP, while Achinanya is a Special Assis-tant to President Jonathan on Electricity Distribution and Special Performance Monitor at the PTFP.
The two appointments came 48 hours after the Minister sacked four Chief Executive Officers, CEOs, of the distribution arms of PHCN.
A statement by Ogbuagu Anikwe, Head of Media, Office of the Minister, Mini-stry of Power, said both positions were critical to the ongoing power sector reform and improved efficiency of power facilities across the nation.
The statement said: “Bada and Achinanya are talented and experienced Engineers who should be able to do a fantastic job.”
