THE Chairman, Delta State Chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Mr Mike Akusu, angry with the scarcity of some essential petroleum products in the state, which had caused long queues at service stations, has called on the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, to make kerosene and diesel available to its mega stations across the state.
Mr Akusu made the call, yesterday, in Warri, during a courtesy visit to the executive and members of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas, NUPENG, Zonal Office, saying, that it was regrettable for kerosene and diesel to be scarce in a state housing a functional and productive refinery.
He noted that the establishment of mega stations in the state was to tackle the problem of scarcity headlong, adding that it was ridiculous to observe that mega stations in Delta State were short of the products even when there is a refinery in the state.
“I want to also mention some of the issues affecting the people of this state that have to do with the scarcity of kerosene and diesel. In spite of the fact that we have a productive refinery in the state, you will agree with me that recently, there has been scarcity of kerosene and diesel in the state,” the labour leader added.
