Electoral violence in oyo, 1 killed 4 injured

A supporter of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Ogbomoso, Mr. Isiaka Ademola, was reportedly killed and four others seriously injured when hoodlums believed to be supporters of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state launched an attack.

Though, the state Police Command confirmed the attack and the killing, it claimed that the death of the deceased was being traced to the ACN.

According to a source, the attack took place at Gbede in Surulere Local Government Area, around 11.30 a.m. when the accreditation of voters was going on.

It is alleged that the deceased died as a result of machete cuts inflicted on him by the attackers, who disrupted the peace that had reigned before their arrival.

While four injured persons were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, Ademola was reported to have died some hours after he was attacked.

His corpse was reportedly taken to the Police Area Command in Ogbomoso, where a formal report was made.
