Ekiti ACN reject shift of polls

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Ekiti State has rejected the further postponement of elections into the National Assembly in the three Senatorial districts and four federal constituencies in the state.
In a statement by chairman of the party Chief Jide Awe, the party lambasted INEC for its inability to hold elections in most parts of the state.
He said the excuse by INEC on the need to print ballot papers to include the missing Nigeria Transformation Party (NTP) logo is not tenable. NTP is not known, and does not exist in the state, Awe said.
He said when elections were held in the North and Southern senatorial districts of the state last week, INEC never talked about missing NTP logo. "We suspect some bad eggs in the legal department of INEC, acting in consonance with some desperate members of the opposition to throw the state into chaos with the avoidable shift in date."
Awe said INEC must hold elections in all the National Assembly districts and constituencies tomorrow or postpone all the elections till a later date, "but it must hold same day."
"The new arrangement as announced by the (INEC) is capable of causing confusion among the electorate," Awe said.
