President Jonathan who spoke while addressing a mammoth crowd at the Uyo Township Stadium, in Akwa Ibom State, said his administration would not tolerate or accommodate violence either in form of religion or tribal.
President Jonathan who promised to build new refineries in the country to put an end to scarcity of petroleum products, also promised to build coastal roads and rail from Lagos to Calabar.
He said: “In the next four years, Nigeria will be able to refined all petroleum products,” adding that there will be emphasis on economic development.
The President who emphasized the need for power stability noted that without power stability, the effort to improve the small and medium scale industry will not succeed and that the administration will lay more emphasis on economic development.
He said that Nigeria must remain united and that the days of fanning religious and tribal violence were over and that any Nigerian that will be culpable of such violence will not only be made to face the law but would be seen as not working in the interest of the nation.
Vice President Sambo in his speech thanked the people of Akwa Ibom for believing in the Goodluck /Sambo project, noting that the State had given 100 per cent support to them even before the primaries and also returned their votes en-bloc at the primaries.
Earlier the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio said Akwa Ibom State was 100 per cent for the President and that he was a symbol of transformation and hope to the people.
