Vice presidential candidate of the Action congress of Nigeria, Mr. Fola Adeola on tuesday narrowly escaped death on his way to a rally in Bauchi state when his chartered aircraft crash landed at the Bauchi airport.
The aircraft which was carrying the running mate to ACN's presidential candidate Nuhu Ribadu and other party chieftains crashlanded at the Bauchi airport due to non-clearance of the runway by the airport officials.
It was gathered that the runway was littered with livestock such as rams& goats and this made the pilot do a forced landing and led to the crash which damaged the aircraft.
Confirming the incident, the chief publicity secretary to the ACN, Chief Lai Mohammed, said sabotage is strongly suspected and called for further investigations into the matter.
All passengers on the aircraft however escaped unhurt.
