Contrary to popular opinion that the CPC Predidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate Pastor Tunde Bakare are not interested in campaigning, the party has indicated that the team will start their presidential campaign on Wednesday in Kaduna.
According to the DG of the presidential campaign council, sule hamma, the campaign will first be taken to all zones in the country and later spread into all states.
On the other hand the former military leader opened up as to why he chose the fiery pastor as running mate saying they both shared a similar vision for Nigeria.
“I identify that we share some fundamental features, and that is our concern for Nigeria. Pastor Bakare is a man of great courage, patriotism who exhibited his concern for Nigeria, when he mobilised people and organised the Save Nigeria Group, at a period when the late President Yar’Adua was sick and incapacitated,” Buhari said.
The lowkey campaign strategy of Buhari also recieved a boost last week as former supporters of the IBB campaign also declared their loyalty to him and promised to vote for him.
