The greatest sprinter in history, Usian Bolt was defeated in the 100m final on Saturday at the 2017 London IAAF World Championships.
It marked the first final Bolt lost of any kind in over four years, spoiling what could have been a perfect ending to a storybook career.
Bolt's world records may remain standing, but he would not accomplish his goal of remaining undefeated in the 100m through the end of his career. Justin Gatlin defeated Bolt in the final, running 9.92 for the gold to Bolt's 9.95.
Bolt will return later in the championships to anchor Jamaica's 4x100m team in the hopes of one final gold medal. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteNothing last forever.... When I was little all we say is Ben Johnson, later usain bolt now Justin Gatlin
DeleteReminder to us all. Leave when the ovation is loudest.
DeleteJustin Gatlin has always been there. Bolt has put him behind his shadows for over 10 yrs. He has always been there in every tournament with Bolt but has not done better than second position. Just like in the previous last two Olympics.
ReplyDeleteGatlin is also 5yrs older than Bolt. He was there before Bolt. Christian Coleman (9.94s) is the new Kid on the block.
DeleteYes,gatlin have been coming out second...i love this.things will always change for good.
ReplyDeleteReminder to us all. Leave when the ovation is loudest.
ReplyDeleteWhy won't he be defeated when he has a culture of womanizing according to him. Ladies have sucked out all his strength
ReplyDeleteShows Bolt is human after all.
ReplyDeleteRemember Gatlin has also has series of suspensions related to use of drugs. That was the reason he was booed last night after the victory. He's still seen as a cheat by many.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have to win all the time. I love bolt, and I love Gatlin for his humility.
