P-Square back together, finally

After weeks of rumours, accusations and bad-blood between brothers Paul and Peter Okoye, and their brother, Jude Okoye, NigerianEye can authoritatively confrim that PSquare is back.

Peter Okoye responded to NigerianEye's inquiry after we asked if he was back with his brother Paul

The brothers who have been battling each other for a while now, on Monday night also posted a photo of a dove on their respective instagram page with same message. They wrote "That it took our stupidity to realize family comes first, we are very sorry'. confirming the end to the P-Square breakup drama.

How the break-up drama all started

The first crack in the wall of the Psquare empire however came in 2014 when rumours started heating up, the duo patched things up and released their sixth album 'Double Trouble'. Two years later things got worse

However NigerianEye recalls that the real drama started on March 14, 2016, when Peter Okoye announced that he is now under new management. The 34-year-old star also revealed his new name Mr. P.
The Okoye feud continued later in the day when Paul Okoye released a new song poorly titled ‘Call heaven’. In the song Paul Okoye touches on the breakup, and the death of his parents. The song was filled with sobs from the musical genius of P-Square.

In a chat with NET, Psquare's first manager Bayo Odusami popularly known as Howie T said that Peter Okoye told him that Jude Okoye was the problem with the group.

"He told me that in a normal setting, a manager is supposed to be their employee and not the other way round, but Jude always uses his influence as their elder brother to boss over them. He also said managers collect between 15 – 25 % of an artiste’s income but in their case they share everything equally and he’s not happy with that sharing formula" Bayo Odusami told NET.

Peter Okoye also said that most times his songs are not picked by Jude and Paul.

These statements echoed Peter Okoye's rants last month demanding for Jude Okoye to step down as the group's manager on Twitter. This move from Peter started the drama with Psquare  NigerianEye gathers

On March 17, 2016, Jude Okoye also announced that he was no longer the manager of Psquare. "Please i stopped being Psquares management for over a month now (for the 4th time). Let me be at PEACE. Thank you" he tweeted.

In an interview with Vanguard in 2011 Jude Okoye revealed the inner workings of the Psquare brand.

"...P-Square rules the world but I own the world. So, I’m the boss. I push them out because they are the brand, while I own and run the brand" said Jude Okoye in the interview.

In 2013 in an exclusive interview with Rhodies World, Jude Okoye revealed how he decides what the group does. "For instance, when they come up with ideas, they will need support from anyone of us before execution. But as for me, I don’t need to seek their suggestion. I would tell them straight that this is what we are doing. I don’t need to get their opinion because before I come up with that opinion, I must have thought about it and reasoned well. They are the artistes. I see them and the audience, but they see only the fans. I am in-and-out. I know what people want more than they do."

In a recent interview with NET Peter Okoye, stated that he has not been on speaking terms with his twin brother, Paul, since December, 2015.
He said, “Truth is: I have not been in talking terms with Paul since December 2015 and that was why I travelled in January. I had a lot on my mind.”

PSquare and Jude Okoye

In the interview, Peter also bared his mind on the sour relationship between him and his brothers,
Blaming the crisis on his twin brother’s ‘weakness’ and an internal struggle for control of the PSquare, he said, “You know they say change is constant, you can’t stay at one spot.
As the industry moves, you move. So I won’t say the problem we have is money.
I think everybody is just dragging power unnecessarily. Imagine Jude telling me that he’s in charge of Psquare and there’s nothing Peter and Paul can do about it, and I look at Paul he’s quiet about it”.

Waving aside the rumour that the altercation among the members of the PSquare was deliberately orchestrated by the group as a publicity stunt, he said, ‘I hear lot of people think it’s all a stunt, and that’s what I really want to put an end to. It’s not a stunt at all. It has been going on for a while’.
“When Jude didn’t come to my wedding, people started saying we broke up and then others said it was a stunt. Then when Paul posted those lyrics stuff on Instagram people thought it was a stunt too. But the truth is that, this is not and has never been a publicity stunt”.

However yesterday, 21st, March, 2016, the group shared a joint statement confirming that all was now well with the group and indeed the family with the epic quote "That it took out stupidity to realize family comes first, we are very sorry"

Perharps it took the crying girls to make P-Square come back?

Perhaps, the general public outcry or maybe some brave insider peace-making moves, the most important thing now is that several P-Square fans all around the world can now breathe a huge sigh of relief, as the biggest African pop group is not breaking up after all.

  6. I think this would bring more respect into d group. The senior brother must show maturity and respect them as the artists that do the performance, without them what is he going to manage.

They too must reciprocate the respect and not look at d brother as just their employee but their blood brother.

I think there should be a structure really as peter was suggesting, if the motive was good and not to reduce d influence of Jude on d group.

The sharing formula, I think, should be based on standard practice, then individual can give more voluntarily to Jude as he wishes.

More importantly, line must be drawn between strict business and family relationship to forestall future re occurrence.

    Happy Union.

  8. The truth is that this guys are ocultic. Their songs makes no meaning and sense. The worst part is the way they pollute our youth who still sag their trousers at 30. The youths engage in cult just to show up instead of studying at school. Can somebody tell me the contribution of this nowadays musicians to the society if not evil. Our original culture are fast eroding due to the borrowing of culture by this musicians. They engage in free for all sex borning illegitimate children here and there. Whoever takes these musicians as their hero is doomed and may not see GOD.
