17:00 pm - INEC has cancelled Saturday's Bayelsa State governorship election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, one of the state’s eight LGAs.
The decision, which will soon be announced officially by INEC, means the elections are inconclusive.
INEC said the decision was taken because of violence, abduction of electoral officials and ballot box snatching, hostage taking of electoral officers, among others.
The election will be conducted in due date.
16:20 pm - From all indications, INEC plans to cancel the elections in Souther Ijaw LGA. Journalists are still inside the Resident Electoral Commission's office waiting for a press briefing where the cancellation is expected to be announced.

Protesters numbering over 1000 besieg INEC office calling for cancellation of Bayelsa election .
Many of the protesters are saying they were not given the opportunity to vote, accusing the Federal Government of using security forces to hijack electoral materials in eight wards.
