Ike Ekweremadu of the Peoples Democratic Party has emerged the deputy Senate President after beating Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume of the All Progressives Congress in an election held at the National Assembly today.
Senator Ike Ekweremadu - 54 Votes
Senator Ali Ndume - 20 Votes
75 Senators-elect participated in the election and there was one voided vote.
