EXPLOSIVE: Journalist Nicholas Ibekwe shares audio proof of T.B Joshua offering journalists N50k

Its Stormy Waters for TB Joshua as Journalist Nicholas Ibekwe this afternoon shared audio proof of T.B Joshua offering journalists (who are covering the building collapse) N50,000 to 'fuel' their cars after he met with them behind close doors at his church premises.

After giving them the money, he asked them what they planned to write and some of them said whatever he wants them to write. He asked them to talk about the people who were rescued/survived and not focus on the people who died.

  1. Only God knows who is worshipping Him truly. How on earth will reporters collect bribe when many have died? I heard the man of God asking "now what will you write ?" And many replied " what ever you want us to write". Nawah oo

  2. And what has your senseless "recording" has to do with the situation at hand. Moreover what is bad in asking the journalists what they would write considering how he jokingly asked. Nicholas or what do u call urself, Get a life! and may God forgive u and everyone of us (Amen)

    1. You are corrupt yourself. Looking at bribery in the face and calling it a joke. You are an enemy of this country as many others. Why ask a journalist what he will write? There has been ab initio a calculated attempt to cover up this disaster and you are a culprit. Justice has to be done!!!

  5. There is nothing wrong in asking journalist what they want to write! Besides He clearly knew some of these journalist are enemies of his progress just like journalist Nicholas, they might decide to write anything to divert public attention from the real truth. The issue of giving out money was not the first time! the man of God is generous to everyone who came in contact wth him! So what is big deal about it?

    1. Keep quiet if you don't know what to say, when Christ was arrested by the Jews,he was not worried about what pple will say about all the charges against him bcos he was sure of his innocence and knew that sooner or later, the truth will be known. He didn't need to bribe the journalists, & that could mean that he was also responsible for the mob action meted out to the rescuers and journalists when they first came to the site. A prophet of God should not do that. I guess he needs to allow proper investigation of the building bcos that's the only way to proove that the cause was diabolic. I guess if everything about the construction was done right the we can look into other possibilities.

    1. Are we now saying d pastor took d life of his members, who sow seed, pay tithe and offering to d upkeep of his ministry,? Lolz, naija. Una busybody too much, despite d fact dat we can barely trust each other, lets leave issues to God, he should judge d one dat calls himself 'd man of God'. As for Nicholas, I like ur gods, nice job u did, u are a professional blackmailer. I wonder y it is dis very scenario dat attracted ur profession, only to come and find faults and shot comings. Hence I believe dat u must have uncovered various and numerous dubious conversations of bribery and corruption, or is dis ur first job,?, u can fool most pple not my kind. I believe d 50k was too small for u to pay ur rents instead of transport fare. If u want to fight corruption, be reasonable and do shit d right way. At least u don make name. Nicho d Monkey

  13. I listened to the audio and I didn't see anything wrong with it. They said they wanted official statement and he insisted he wants security officials to do their job that he doesn't want to interfere with security job. They Journalists wanted him to make a hasty statement so that they can capitalize on that. And yet this Nicholas is still trying to capitalize on something. That is bad, Nicholas has ulterior motive. TB Joshua never called out one person to over the money to you guys. He did what he did out of generosity and Nicholas is turning it into something else. Why not tell us what happened after he offered you guys the money. Did that money make your colleagues to stopped covering the situation report or did it make them go home. Nicholas, didn't tell us whether he continued covering the situation report and whether they chase him away because he refused to accept the money. We know what happened was bad and painful to the nation and the world, it is a tragedy however the journalists too should be truthful about the information they are giving us. Report things as it's happening, please don't report having another thing at the back of your mind. Leave God to judge and do your job truthfully not to tarnish somebody's image. Giving us wrong information to tarnish someone image is also killing and it is a sin.

  14. It amazes one as to how some of us (bright for instance) have been so blindfolded that they hardly discern their right from left.
How on earth will anybody with common sense be attacking Mr Nicholas (here- a whisttle blower) for standing on truth and shaming the devil?

It is bcos of ppl like Bright and the likes that mushroom churches are daily springing up at every corner of our society.

Like one of the commenters, I will only advise nigerians to shine their eyes and stop chasing miracles that are never there for free.

  15. Frankly, I don't see much scandal in this recording. This accusation is baseless and holds no water. The so called journalist(Ibekwe) seems to be looking for cheap fame and praises from the public, portraying himself as an honest journalist.
Anyone with a working brain who listened to this recording could see clearly, TB Joshua was simply expressing his sense of humor when he asked "so what are u going to write now?" That forced instant laughs from everyone there. The fact that he purportedly gave them money for fuel shouldnt be necessarily taken as a bribe. It could be his kind gesture towards the journalists. Rich folks/public office holders usually do this. No biggie.
I honestly think Ibekwe is seeking a cheap fame. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm entitled to my opinion.

    1. Your problem is that you are so used to evil in this nation that you are taking evil for good. By the ethics of Journalism, it is a very serious offence for any journalist to receive gifts in order to publish or suppress a story. It is not also the duty of anyone involved to ask the journalist what he is going to write. This will of course lead to bias. Is it the duty of anybody to give drinks to journalists? The aim is obvious. In developed countries this is a serious offecnce and both parties would have been under serious investigation by now. This tells you how deeply corrupt this nation is. We don't even know what is wrong anymore. Anything goes. Get your facts right before going public!!!

  22. @ Anonymous 12:42, I had earlier before now sent you, your due reply but I didn't know why the Admin failed to publish it, meanwhile, in the course of this second reply, I shall at the same use the opportunity to reply both you and your allies whose emotional intelligences are not only questionable but in a state of doubt in that if you and your co- "mean and low minded rabble- rousers ever have.
Let it be clear to you and your co demagogues like this agitator that call himself 'El Matosky' that I can not be trading words with people of your caliber because you and co loathsome & abhorrent people know NOTHING other than using awful, noisome comments and such statement that are completely primitive n repugnant. Any sane and informed Nigerian had before now known the truth about the incident that happened at the Synagogue Church Compound, so why on earth would someone be stressing that someone wanted to cover something up. A fool will always act as one, so u people should learn how to make simple n cogent comments and stop commenting like numskull!
