Picture of the day: A sweet N12 Million nap

Pictured above is a member of confab (name withheld) taking a nap during a session at the 2014 National conference.

Members are expected to discuss and proffer solutions to issues troubling our dear country Nigeria, but as it appears, some of them just take that sweet nap all through.

It can be recalled that each of the 492 delegates got paid N1.45 million Naira after sitting for a week . The payment was made directly into the bank accounts of delegates last week.

Some of the active delegates, others sleep after few hours of sitting

They are expected to meet for three months and get paid at least 12 million naira.

The delegates are still asking for some pay for their aides, drivers, cooks etc.

The Nigerian government has made available N7 billion (Naira) for the conference. Each delegate is expected to be paid N4 million Naira per month. Despite this huge amount, in a country where state governors are refusing to pay the minimum wage at N18,000 per month.

I will take 12 Million naira to have a nap too, wouldn't you?

  1. What do you expect? After eating an Africana /intercontinental dishes which you don't pay from your own pocket and you sat comfortably in an airconditional filled room?
I say if they're are what they claimed to be (patriots) they should be ready to sacrifice, let them hold this conference at eagles square, on the feeding aspect, let them have 101 or 011 (after all "big" man don't eat much) then you'll see the rates of sleeping /dozing will reduce drastically because when you're under a sun (scourging or otherwise) you would not dare sleep.

  5. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the councel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of liers, nor sitteth in the seat of deceiver. We all need a little bit of patience, on your own be God fearing and trust not in worldly riches and watch and see the end of the wicked. God have mercy!

  9. Some of the commentators in this forum, more often than not, wrote emotion laden comments with outright disregard for practicability of their submissions. We are about a year to the general election and someone organised a confab of this magnitude and Nigerian believes it will work. Yes, some politicians may be sounding negative for their selfish ends but the fact remains that this is not the type of confab that will benefit this country. I keep my fingers crossed and watch as the events unfold.

  10. People, sleeping is natural and nature can not be cheated, i feel we should look at it from another angle, this man could be any of you's father, even if you are young u can do the same while standing. I can see another old man among them that is very active and vibrant, you can see his hand up ready to contribute.

i feel the government should involve vibrant youth of our nation in this confab, we have series of them from every sector.
