Plane door found open after 30 minutes flight
There was panic aboard Aero Contractors Flight Aj2002 from Lagos to Douala Friday when passengers, including 2Face Idibia discovered that one of the doors was open 30 minutes after take-off.
An angry passenger who does not want his name mentioned told The Nation that passengers had finished taking their refreshment onboard the small aircraft when a signal came that a door was not locked and they should return to Lagos.
“Remember that small plane you guys used that day to Douala, Aero? Hmm! We left Lagos with it and like 30 minutes later on air, after all the refreshments. I had finished eating and then announcement came in that there’s a signal that the door is open somewhere.
” That it is required we return to Lagos. Returning to Lagos was hell. Plane flew so low and that’s how we managed back.
“For 40 minutes, they said we should wait in plane and 20 minutes later they said we should descend. We are back to boarding room now. Thank God.
“Even 2Face was in the flight and has left to the VIP lounge now. That is my story for today. They said a new plane is coming, and so, we are waiting till 4pm for it.
“That aircraft should not be allowed to fly,” he said. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

This is oduah's inefficiency, what do you think country men and women.
ReplyDeleteGo and rest! Everything is Oduh's this and that. Rubbish. A plane developed a fault and the right thing was done to return it. So that's Oduah's fault right? Our thought pattern is so destructive of each other, and you think Nigeria can grow like this?
DeleteNo. It is Fani kayode ineptitude and no efficiency during his tenure. You have allowed sentiment and emotion to control your dull brain!. Thank God people like you cannot be in a position where sound judgement and policy decisions are made. With this kind of mentality, you will never smell where movers and shakers of soceity meet. God forbids. Go back to your mother's womb and be born again
DeleteNo be only oduah, Lamurin join self. take time to watch documentaries. Most sophisticated aircrafts do develop faults for one reason or the other. Ranging from human to natural influences.
Deleteshut up> is it Oduah dat will close the door for them. you would have said she should be d one to come and fly the plane.
ReplyDeleteu know its not a must dat one should comment. How is it oduah's inefficiency dat caused it. Is she d staff dat should make sure things are in order before take off? Or is her name d only one u no. U actually sound stupid
ReplyDeleteStop ranting. Aero aircrafts needs to be checked properly.
ReplyDeleteWt has Odiah got wt ds again..is she d minister of aviation..u ve suceeded in sacking her...tankGod
ReplyDeletePure pilot crew inefficiency. If u enter your car and the door is open, you the driver should be held responsible if you didnt check the door light indicator blinking or on to see if any door is open.Stella will not do that my fellow country man. While the lady may not be clean let us apportion blame to where it should be and not be sentimental on all aviation matters.
ReplyDeleteWhat if the door develop fault in flight?
DeletePlease would you for Christ's sake let the poof woman be? Was she the one that left the plane door opened? Be reasonable please!
ReplyDeleteHw oduah's come issue pls stop dat thing
ReplyDeleteLeave the woman alone. Are you a perfect being? Will she be the one to close the door of an aircraft just because she is a minister and answerable to you twart.
ReplyDeleteThat must be Oduah's parthing gift! Hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteThe reality is that so many planes in Nigeria domestic airspace if properly checked and evaluated have no business been in the air in the first place. And that is where the regulatory agencies and in turn the supervising ministries and minister comes in...odun tutu
ReplyDeleteCommercial aircrafts are equipped with sophisticated gadgets/equipments to detect any fault. This said fault can occur in-flight and there is nothing d pilot or d crew can do about that. If you are a regular flier one of the routines is to put doors on automatic. So in this case it might be lack of regular checks and maintenance, negligence (crew), or one sensor malfunctioning. Pilot did the right thing turning back and flying low. just to add, most sophisticated commercial aircraft do develop in-flight fault, so people should stop pointing fingers and ask the right question? What really happen?
