For the second time in eight days, men of the Rivers State Police Command stormed a rally by the Save Rivers Movement and allegedly opened fire on the members of the movement, who gathered in Bori, Khana Local Government of the state on Sunday.
It was learnt that though the rally was billed to start by 2pm, fully armed policemen stormed the venue before the commencement of the programme, but it was unclear what led to the heavy shooting that followed the arrival of the security men.
Our correspondent learnt that scores of people were injured but it could not be confirmed if anyone was killed as of the time of filing this report.
On Sunday last week, policemen, who were deployed in the SRM rally, allegedly shot Senator Magnus Abe with rubber bullet on the chest at close range.
The federal lawmaker is currently hospitalised in a London hospital for intensive medical attention. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

I can see that this site or blog is owed by an APC member. Abe was never shot.
ReplyDeleteAnd u are a pdp member
DeleteNo, Abe was not shot but was wheeled to London for treatment for the rubber bullets rained on him by police turned politician Mbu Mbu of Rivers State Police Command.
DeleteNigerians,we can be funny atimes,if the man did not survive the attack, the police will say that he was shot by hoodlums.
Mumu APC supporter, u reason like animal
DeleteAbbe was not shot. In case you don't know, the medical personnel of the hospital Abbe was taken to in London is questioning the competence of the Doctor who referred Abbe to London as there was no reason for such. No drug was administered to Abbe and NigerianEye is telling us that he under intensive medical care yet hospital is wondering his eating habits. A sick person under "INTENSIVE CARE" eating like a hungry lion!. I support the earlier assertion that this website had been bought over or is sponsored by APC.
DeleteFor all of the commentators, I believe you are all blinded to see the truth just because of your political affiliation. If Amaechi was in Goodluck's stead, the worst would have happened I Rivers state, what happened in OBIO OKPOR?. thank God Goodluck is a simple and easy going.
This Apc supporters are just bunch of cows....they will never seize to amaze me.just keep clownin ur selves.
ReplyDeleteWe should learn to speak the truth at all times.you said heavily armed police men were present the s s g and chief of staff said there was no police presence at the occasion so who is correct.do not spoil the police for your selfish gain always speak the truth
ReplyDeleteThe NPF is spoilt and will continue to decay more and more. What a country! What a President!
ReplyDeleteTwo diff versions of this story. all on nigerian eye. You guys are reporting heavy police presence while the rivers state govt is saying the place was deserted by police who are generally supposed to be protecting them. Who do we believe? Nigerianeye seems you guys are being bought over by some politicians for their own selfish gains. You guys only have one sponsorship advert on your website so who is paying for all your reports. No wonder you guys are always biased in favour of APC. please we want objective reporting and not subjective ones. your reputation is at stake.
