PICTURES: Patience Jonathan's Rally For 2015 Elections

The Nigerian women under the auspices of Nigerian Council of Women Society (NCWS) today organized a mass rally in support of the President Goodluck Jonathan towards  the 2015 general election.

The rally which was tagged “Celebration of Nigerian Women for Peace and Empowerment” witnessed by various women across most nigerian states was heralded by a motorized mass rally from Old Parade Ground area 10 through designated route started at 7.00am with the campaign posters of the President Goodluck Jonathan on each truck used by the women and some men.

The city of Abuja was shut down as business activities were grounded to a halt due the blockage of routes by security agencies. All roads from Berger Junction, Central Business Area, and Secretariat were blocked for the rally, which has led to the traffic snarl in the city. The rally, which is expected end at the Eagle Square later today has continued as at the time of filing this report.

Saharareporters gathered that the rally was funded by the first lady and several ministers as well as some state governors loyal to the president.

  1. Indeed campaign for 2015 has started indirectly.God should 4give all these women for selling the future of their children by any amount of money they might ve collected to carry out this shameless nd vain rally.what r they celebrating with GEJ,what good things has it done to warrant celebration.instead of telling him the truth nd advise him to put common pple first.they r just butch of fools nd hungry women.I'm sure most of them ve bulk of unemployed children @ home .celebrating while some ppLe r yet to recover from d shock of brutal killing of their bred winners by boko haram.nations still mourning the death of their love ones.u r celebrating the retrogression of the nation by the kindergatine nd clueless government

  10. SAHARA REPORTERES, I DID NOT SEE ANY POSTER FOR GOODLUCK PRESIDENCY COMES 2015!. WHERE THEN DID YOU GET THE HEADLINE FROM.CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENTS IS NOT CAMPAIGNING FOR 2015, ALBEIT NO POSTER DEPICTS THAT. BE ALWAYS CAUTIOUS OF YOUR HEADLINES!.
IF GEJ IS NOT PERFORMING, IT IS BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE MOST OF THE COMEMENTATORS ON THIS FORUM ARE NOT SUPPORTING HIM TO SUCCEED. THEY MUST ENSURE NONE OF HIS POLICIES SEES THE LIGHT F THE DAY, INTRODUCING BOK ALARM, THWARTING EVERY REFORM, INSTIGATING CRISES ALL TO MAKE SURE THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT SUCCEED. WE ARE NOT PATROITIC ENOUGH TO PROTECT THE INTEREST OF THIS COUNTRY DESPITE ALL ODDS.. LETS WAKE UP AND RE-ORIENTATE OURSELVES ONLY THEN WILL ANYONE ON TOP SUCCEEDS.

  13. I WOULD ADVISE THE FIRSTLADY TO ALSO CONVANE A RALLY FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE LECTURERS (ASUU) OVER THE FAILURE OF THE FED. GOVT. TO STICK TO THE AGREEMENT THEY REACHED IN HOW MANY YEARS BACK.

  14. It is obvious that this man and his wife are clueless, they are the worst thing to happen to this country. Reasonable people will always want to make corrections on their present based on their history, but from all indications, the country is further plunging into a DEEPER MESS. GOD save US.

  15. MY question is, is GEJ OR Patience celebrating birthday? or what are they celebrating? What a shame, IN a country where there is no electricity, ASUU on strike, no security, we generate our water lack of employment and under employment, bad governance at all levels. Mama GEJ still went ahead to organise rally to disturb people who were searching for their daily bread. Am sorry for this nation, a common man cannot afford good living, yet people we elected are oppressing us. GOD WILL JUDGE

  16. I can not understand what the so called women are celebrating. Is it the ASSU strike or high unemployment in the country. The world is watching what is happening in Nigeria. I think it is high time the majority of Nigerians stand against this atrocity to mankind. Enough of this nonsense.

  17. I thought GEJ's wife is supposed to be mourning the loss of her dear mother?
