Stop Harassing Celebs For Funds For OJB's Kidney Transplant - Juliet Ibrahim

While most commentators are begging on these 'Super Rich' celebrities who spend millions on cars, jewelries and fancy things to come to the aid of veteran music producer, OJB Jezerel, this Ghanaian actress thinks otherwise.

She posted a message on her instagram today asking people to stop insulting and  harassing celebs for funds for OJB's treatment. She also wrote that a kidney transplant doesn't cost more than $50, 000 and doesn't understand why people raising funds for OJB are requesting for $100, 000

In her words...

'I think it's about time i speak on the OJB topic that most of you ignorant people are using to harrass and insult celebrities. First of all every celebrity has his/her own responsibilities and family to take care of, if a colleague is ill and needs help, we do contribute in our own way whichever way we can.

I don't see why you people can't help out as well? who said your N1000 can't amount to something needed for OJB's transplant?

For you people tagging me in your tweets, I'm sure you know that i run a kidney disease foundation, hence i know the true cost of a kidney transplant in India.

I have been quiet but i have asked people in charge of the OJB broadcast to contact my foundation because i know a kidney transplant should not cost more than  $50,000. Why are they requesting for $100,000? when there are so many cheaper deals with hospitals in India and even in Ghana can be worked out to save OJB?

To get the necessary help, those in charge of OJB fund-raising need to reach out to the right people and stop harassing celebrities for funds.

  6. The girl is right. Some unscrupulous people are trying to rip off innocent people on account of a sick person. Very unfortunate.

  7. Somebody is bringing out a fact and you call her prostitute. Why ask for 16 million for what 8 million will do? Is it not an attempt to rip people off?
Let us stand for truth in Nigeria so that we can make progress. Must we turn the misfortune of somebody to our own fortune?

  8. I really don't know what it costs to do a kidney transplant, but i see the point in this lady's message, she might be making sense, but that's not what matters now. what matters is that OJB needs help which i just hope those involved in getting the funds are doing it in all sincerity, U don't need to harass anyone to help, it should be done in freewill, All the same there's always nemesis if U con someone off his hard earned money. I wish U well, OJB.

  10. She is right. Most Nigerians are to crooked. There is no way a kedney transplant will cost dat kind of huge amount of money. We spent only #6m during my sister kedney transplant. Let be sincere in all we do and live upright.

  13. Crooked minds. Truth is bitter, why leash insults on her for telling u what she knw too well, even asking for double will make OJB to stay unattended to. But when u make urself lighter, u will be easy to carry.

  15. you people hauling insults are the most ignorant. she has a point backed with a fact(she runs a kidney transplant foundation,so she should know better). when are people going to stop harassing those that express opinion contrary to their own. those hauling insults, what have you done to help? just like she said a N1,000 contribution from the numbers of the "non celebrities' in Lagos alone can generate more than N5,000,000(five million naira). So please put your money where your mouth is, do your own quoter

  20. The lady deserves more than what the pple have said so far. She is a Ghanian, courtesy demands that she first all apologize for poking her nose into what does not concern her. If not any reason she has an in put, then let it be something constructive. There is no how the pple in charge can exploit money from the public unnecessarily since the money is being paid into OJB's account and even if they eventually have more than required, that will be useful for helping him stand on his feet again, having spent so much personally before coming public. Nobody is interested in her so called foundation. She is looking for cheap recognition both for herself and the 'yeye' foundation that could be another means of exploitation.

  21. Nija for life! Think about this: our celebrities buy N25 million cars, move into N100 million mansions, propose to their girlfriend with $50,000 ring... Don't we know that tomorrow will come and sometimes with life threatening cercumstances? How many of us prepare for the future and whatever it is likely to bring? Life Insurance, health Insurance, personal pension scheme, profitable investment etc?
